Northern Lights · Tour
Forest Lagoon Geothermal Baths and Northern Lights Night from Akureyri
Two halves, both of them dependent on the same dark evening. It opens with a short drive to the Forest Lagoon geothermal baths, where the water is warm and the view runs down Eyjafjörður, one of the longest fjords in Iceland. Birch and pine grow right up to the pools, which is what sets this spa apart in a country where most of them sit on bare ground. The forest is called Vaðlaskógur, and guests spend the first part of the night in the quiet of it. The second half goes outside Akureyri with experienced guides, looking for the aurora borealis. Warm water first, cold air after. The north of Iceland is a good place for both.
