Aurora Sleighers Night Snowmobile Tour in Fairbanks
An aurora tour where you are moving instead of standing still. Most aurora nights are spent waiting: three hours in one spot with your head tilted back. This one puts you on a snowmobile between viewpoints, so the waiting has something in it and your neck survives. Bring cameras and tripods.

Google Maps gets you close but does not show the driveway. The pin marks the cabin, which is the meeting point, correctly. Drive to the end of the long driveway to reach it.
Fairbanks
The tour runs in the Goldstream Valley, about 15 minutes north of Fairbanks, where nothing blocks the northern sky. It goes from 10 pm to 1 am, which covers the hours when the aurora is usually most active. The route runs under the night sky on snowmobiles, with breaks at several vantage points along the way. If the aurora appears at any point, the group pulls over, kills the engines, and watches in the quiet. Dress warmly, and bring cameras and tripods.
