They cover both the science of what makes the aurora and the folklore that grew up around it long before anyone could explain it, so the waiting has something in it besides cold. When the aurora does appear, the colours, shapes and movement change from minute to minute. You can stand and watch while the guide takes the photographs, including portraits of you. If you would rather shoot your own, the guide helps with your camera or phone settings. Thermal suits and dinner are included.
