Small Group Northern Lights Chase from Downtown Tromso

An aurora chase for people who would rather not share the evening with a coachload. The minibus leaves from downtown Tromsø, but the direction is set by the latest forecast. What the guides are hunting is clear sky well away from the city's lights: some nights that means driving out to the coast, some nights inland, and some nights past three fjords all the way to the Finnish border. The final call is left as late as possible, because a forecast made at four in the afternoon is a different thing from the sky at eight. At the chosen spot the minibus stops and the waiting begins. The guides help you set up your camera so the photographs come out, and hot drinks and biscuits come round while everyone watches the sky.
