Tromsø Aurora Hunt with Bonfire, Hot Meal, Thermal Suit and Photos
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
TromsoThe light pollution of Tromsø is the first thing this tour leaves behind. Guides read the evening forecast, then pick a spot from the long list of places they know across the region, whichever one looks safest and clearest that night. Once the group stops, out come the thermal suits. A campfire is lit and a hot meal is served while everyone waits for the sky to do something. The guides explain how to set a camera up for the aurora, so the frames you take are your own. They also photograph the group, and those pictures arrive free at web resolution after the tour. Hot drinks close the evening before the drive back to hotels on Tromsø island. No operator can promise the aurora and this one does not: the small team of aurora guides goes out every night of the season and works with what the sky gives, keeping the whole thing ethical and unhurried.
