All Inclusive Northern Lights Hunt with The Green Adventure, Photos Included
The all inclusive version of The Green Adventure's chase, with the thermal suit and the meal built into the price. The team have years of local knowledge behind them and go wherever the night's best viewing is, away from the city's light pollution and into Finland when that is what it takes. At the stop, a campfire with marshmallows and hot chocolate, while the expedition leader tells stories from the north and the old legends about the aurora. There is also soup made in Tromsø for Arctic expeditions, which does more against the cold than any amount of standing near a fire. A thermal suit is provided, which is the difference between watching for two hours and giving up after twenty minutes. Afterwards you receive the photographs taken by the expedition leader, including portraits of you with the aurora. If you would rather shoot your own, they will help with your camera or phone settings.

Meet in front of the hotel main entrance. The expedition leaders are usually there 5 minutes before departure, recognisable by The Green Adventure logo.
Tromso
The search covers an area about 200 km around Tromsø. Some nights it ends close to the city; others it runs all the way toward Finland, so come prepared for either. Local weather experience and a network of contacts among other guides is what finds the clear sky, and without clear sky there is no aurora to see.
Tromsø
After the tour you are driven back and dropped at your hotel in Tromsø city centre. The roads here are narrow and icy, so drop-off is not made directly at Airbnbs: you can be left at one of the nearby hotels from the list above, or at a taxi or bus stop.
Not included
- Bring some water with you, it's important to be hydrated in cold and dry climate.
- We encourage you to wear warm clothing and appropriate footwear. We do not offer boots for out of concern for your foot hygiene.
- For airbnbs outside the city center we offer drop off at the pick up point or taxi stand.

- Be aware that access to proper toilets in Norwegian wilderness is very limited, sometimes even impossible. We highly recommend to use any toilet before a tour, because in many spots we don't have access to toilets during winter time.
- Please inform us also about your thermal suit sizes (the same like your winter jacket), so we will make sure that we have proper size ready for you on board.
- Tour is not suitable for cruise ship passengers, which are not staying overnight in Tromso. We do not guarantee that we will be back before cruise's departure as our priority is to see the northern lights. Contact us to organize private tour as an alternative
- It's good to know that the icy roads around Tromsø are not favorable for individuals with motion sickness. It's better to take appropriate medication in advance
- For everyone's comfort we maintain a strict policy against individuals under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
