The guiding is in Chinese from start to finish, covering how the aurora forms and the myths that circulated about it long before the physics arrived. The coach is heated and air conditioned. If fewer than 19 people book, the tour may run in a minibus instead. If fewer than 10 book, it may share a coach with the English language group, though the Chinese guiding continues either way. Where the bus goes is decided each night from the latest aurora forecast and the weather, which is how a fixed itinerary would lose you the sky. At each stop there is time to get out, stand under the lights and photograph them, rather than watching through a window.
