The hunt runs up to 4 hours depending on conditions, and where it goes is decided by two numbers checked before departure: cloud cover and the KP index.

Reykjavik
The hunt starts with an evening pick-up from your chosen spot in the Reykjavik area. Once the city is behind you the light pollution goes with it and the quiet countryside gives the aurora a fair chance. The guide scouts for a spot with the least cloud cover and the highest KP index values available that night. The hunt can take up to 4 hours depending on conditions.
Iceland
At the chosen spot, the aurora tends to start as a neon green glow, and it can shift towards pink and purple as the KP index climbs. Shape, colour and brightness change constantly, so no two nights look the same. It is the movement people remember afterwards, not the colour. While that goes on there are warm blankets, hot chocolate and chocolate treats, and the guide takes your photograph under the lights.

After the hunt, a late night drop-off back in the city, at your chosen spot from the list.

- If you do not see any northern lights, offer you a free second tour but please note that you must contact to re-book this and this is subject to availability each time. No refund is given when no lights are seen.
- Tour is operated from Mid-September to Mid-April.
