Meet Santa Claus on Private Arctic Land and Watch for the Northern Lights
Christmas in Rovaniemi usually means a queue. This is the other version: a private forest, a small group, and a meeting with Santa Claus that has time in it. The operator is Arctic GM, The Original Aurora Hunters, run by a family whose roots in Lapland go back to the 1600s. That is a long time to have been standing in the same forest. The evening starts in Rovaniemi and moves by heated coach to the private site. Santa's elves do the welcoming, and the bonfire comes with stories, hot drinks and a light Lapland barbecue. The meeting with Santa is private, with time for photographs and a postcard gift sent from Lapland. If conditions cooperate, the aurora may appear over the forest while you are still out there.

The meeting point is the office at Valtakatu 26 in Rovaniemi. Pickup service is not included.
Rovaniemi
The evening starts at a central meeting point in Rovaniemi, where the guides, Santa's elves, collect the group before the heated coach leaves for a private forest site well away from the busy tourist areas. The elf guides stay with you throughout, telling stories and keeping the evening moving without hurrying it. At the site there is a bonfire, hot drinks and a light Lapland barbecue. Then the private meeting with Santa Claus. There is time to talk, take photographs and collect a postcard gift, which can be sent anywhere in the world with an official Lapland stamp. Afterwards the group spends time in the surrounding wilderness, where, conditions permitting, the northern lights can appear with no artificial light anywhere near. The coach returns to Rovaniemi at the end. Total duration is 4 to 6 hours.
