Northern Lights Hunt from a Lappish Cottage in the Forest

The car leaves the city lights behind and stops where the starry sky has nothing competing with it. The guide builds an open fire and Lappish sausages go on it. Sitting in cold air beside a fire is when the conversation happens: the guide talks about Finnish life, life this far north, and the myths that attached themselves to the aurora, and answers whatever gets asked. There is a warm cottage as well, with a video about the northern lights and more stories about Lapland. The guides carry good cameras and photograph the night, and if you brought your own they will help you set it up.
