Most aurora tours in Rovaniemi are a coach and a fixed stop, where the group waits and hopes the cloud breaks. This one is built to move instead. Eight guests at most, in a van, which is what makes reacting to the weather possible at all. The guides watch forecasts and aurora activity in real time and change the route through the evening as conditions shift. Some nights the lights turn up twenty minutes from town. Others end with a long drive north, or across the border into Sweden, because that is where the sky is clear. Nobody can guarantee an aurora.
