Reykjavik 4x4 Northern Lights Small Group Tour with a Photographer
A small group aurora hunt from central Reykjavik in a heated 4x4, with a guide and a professional photographer who track aurora activity and cloud cover in real time and pick the dark sky spot accordingly. Meeting point is either Aurora Reykjavik or your accommodation. The stops are chosen for both viewing and long exposure photography, including shots of you standing under the aurora. Hot cocoa is included, with rum optional, along with traditional Icelandic pastries. The tour runs 3 to 5 hours, and the edited digital photographs are included afterwards at no extra cost. Bring warm layers. Your own camera and tripod are welcome. Entry to the Aurora Reykjavik museum comes with the booking, which is worth using on a clouded out afternoon: it explains what causes the aurora before you go out to look for it.

Reykjavik
An evening pickup in Reykjavík, then out of the city lights into the dark countryside where the aurora stands a chance of being visible. The guide watches for gaps in the cloud and for signs of activity, chooses the spot accordingly, and talks about Icelandic nature along the way. The drive out crosses open country, past fields and mountains, which look different at night than any daytime tour will show you.

- Northern Lights sightings are not always guaranteed. If unforeseen circumstances prevent viewing the activity provider offers another tour within two years of your original tour
- Pick up starts from 21:00 and can take up to 30 mins.
