Yellowknife Aurora Chasing and Lodge Night at Madeline Lake
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
YellowknifeThe night has two settings and the weather chooses between them. Cold and clear, and most of the hours are spent at the spacious warm lodge near Madeline Lake, waiting for the show to start. There is a display of furs and animal products to look at, light snacks and hot beverages, and enough board games, cards, mahjong, arcade machines, foosball and a basketball shooter to make the waiting pass. The washrooms are proper indoor ones, which anyone who has stood in a car park at these temperatures will appreciate. Roaming cloud, and the balance tips towards driving, out to wherever the sky is clearer. If the chase ends up near the lodge, guests can go back in to rest and thaw between attempts. A professional photographer works the night, and every guest receives the original digital photos at no additional charge.
