FairbanksOne of the operator's most booked evenings: Chena Hot Springs Resort, 60 miles out from Fairbanks, with the drive itself crossing country where moose, fox and beaver all turn up. The night opens with a guided visit to the Aurora Ice Museum, its sculptures and the ice bar, where an appletini comes in a hand carved ice glass if you want one. Then dinner or a drink in the resort restaurant, which uses fresh local produce. The meal is not included. After that, the outdoor mineral springs under the stars, or a walk around the snowy grounds while the sky is watched. The guide points out the best spots and gives practical advice for the night. The operator states that a full refund is available up to 7 days before the tour. The booking policy shown at checkout says otherwise, so check which one applies to your reservation before paying.

Aurora Ice Museum
After pickup comes the 60 mile (97 km) drive out to Chena Hot Springs Resort, with moose, beaver and fox all possible along the way. On arrival, a guided visit to the Aurora Ice Museum, built from over 1000 tons of ice and snow. The sculptures are the work of internationally known ice carvers. You can sit at the ice bar on a caribou hide covered stool, and order an appletini in a hand carved ice glass, which is optional and not in the price. Then the group's table in the restaurant, for dinner and drinks, also optional and not included. Everyone regroups a little after midnight for the drive back to Fairbanks. The guide may stop along the way for more aurora viewing if it is active. The aurora is a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed.
Chena Hot Springs Resort
At the resort the group is taken to the restaurant, where the Alaskan food is grown locally. That, and drinks at the bar, are optional and not included. The hot springs are the other option: mineral water that holds 106°F (41°C) all year, in an outdoor tub under the stars or the heated indoor pool. When the group is ready, the guide leads a small outing to watch for the aurora, in one of the most reliable places on earth for it. Late evening is when the odds are best. The lights are also visible from the cafe's Aurora Room, which is warm and comfortable and solves the problem of watching for two hours in the cold. No sighting can ever be guaranteed.

- The outside rock pool is only allowed for adults 18 years and up. However, children are allowed in the inside pool.
- Pregnant travelers are not allowed in the outside rock pool.
- We have enough room for a foldable wheelchair. The hot springs are wheelchair accessible.
- We can only pick up from inside the city limits of Fairbanks or North Pole. For other locations, you will need to go to an agreed location (eg Walmart), please contact our office to discuss if you are staying outside the city limits.
- Water is not supplied for this tour. We recommending bringing a refillable water bottle.
